Just Playing Around

Sometimes I just like to get “wild” with the feathers.
Samples of these masks can be fould below.

“Wild One” and “Mardi Gras” has become a concept I repeat, but because they are such a mix of either natural feathers or dyed hackles. They don’t have set patterns, I have fun mixing colors that I don’t usually put together. For these, I get to play around a bit.

A “Wild One” is created using feathers from
5 different types of Pheasants.
Ring Neck, Reeves, Golden, Lady Amherst & Silver Pheasant.
A couple of Macaw feathers are also used.

A “Mardi Gras” is created using
a mix of dyed rooster hackles.
They can be “Winged” also.
They rarely have eye accents.

“Bugsy” Masks on the righthave shorter wings created by using Wing Feathers from Oriental Pheasants.
Various Oriental Pheasants are used to create a “bug”
inspired look.
